Your hands are one of the most visible parts of your body and are almost always on display. As your skin ages, hands can lose elasticity and develop unsightly freckles, wrinkles, sun and age spots and protruding veins. At Advanced Liposuction Center we offer multiple hand rejuvenation options to treat hands safely with little or no down time. You can come in to one of our Pittsburgh area offices for a free consultation where our highly trained cosmetic surgeons will develop a personalized treatment plan for your hands to reverse the signs of aging and give you back hands that you won’t want to hide in your pockets. All treatments are performed on an outpatient basis.

Below are some of the treatment options available:

  1. Dermal fillers—if the skin on your hands has lost its natural volume and appears thin or sunken, dermal fillers such as Radiesse and Sculptra Aesthetic may be the right treatment for you. These will add body and improve the appearance of your hands while giving a soft, natural feel. Results typically last about 13 years.
  2. Laser treatments—we offer multiple types of laser treatments to gently remove fine lines, age spots, scars and unsightly veins for smoother, more evenly toned, youthful looking hands. Using heat and the healing power of light, a small series of laser treatments will stimulate new collagen growth. A local anesthesia can be used if desired.
  3. Sclerotherapy—to help unattractive veins disappear, we inject a sclerosing solution into the vein with a microneedle (the tiny kind used for varicose veins). The solution causes the vein to blanch; turning it white, before it gradually disappears.
  4. Exfoliation Peel—depending on your individual skin type and the results you desire, your physician will recommend a superficial, medium or deep peel, consisting of a safe acid solution which is applied topically to your skin. New skin that is smooth and practically free of blemishes, fine lines and spots is revealed. We also offer microdermabrasion which is a more superficial skin polishing treatment that will instantly improve the appearance of your hands.

Is Hand Surgery An Outpatient Procedure, Or Is Hospitalization Required?

The nature of hand surgery, whether it is performed on an outpatient basis or requires hospitalization, depends on the specific procedure and the individual patient’s circumstances.

  1. Outpatient Hand Surgery:

– Many hand surgeries are performed on an outpatient basis, allowing patients to go home on the same day as the surgery. This is common for minor procedures, such as carpal tunnel release or trigger finger release.

  1. Inpatient Hand Surgery:

– Some hand surgeries, particularly those that are more complex or involve extensive reconstruction, may require hospitalization. Inpatient stays are typically reserved for procedures that necessitate close post-operative monitoring, more extended recovery periods, or additional medical care.

  1. Surgical Setting:

– Outpatient hand surgery is often performed in ambulatory surgery centers or outpatient facilities, while inpatient procedures take place in a hospital.

Is Hand Surgery An Outpatient Procedure, Or Is Hospitalization Required?

The nature of hand surgery, whether it is performed on an outpatient basis or requires hospitalization, depends on the specific procedure and the patient’s overall health.

  1. Outpatient Hand Surgery:

– Many hand surgeries are conducted on an outpatient basis, allowing patients to return home on the same day. This is common for less invasive procedures such as carpal tunnel release or trigger finger surgery.

  1. Inpatient Hand Surgery:

– Certain hand surgeries, especially those involving complex reconstructions, severe injuries, or multiple procedures, may require hospitalization. Inpatient stays provide a more controlled environment for post-operative care and monitoring.

  1. Surgical Setting:

– Outpatient hand surgery often takes place in ambulatory surgery centers or specialized hand clinics. Inpatient procedures are typically performed in a hospital setting.

  1. Anesthesia Type:

– The choice of anesthesia (local, regional, or general) may also influence whether the surgery is performed on an outpatient or inpatient basis.

  1. Health Considerations:

– The patient’s overall health and the need for additional medical care post-surgery are crucial factors in determining the appropriate setting.
