Choose the Filler That’s Perfect for You

Women and men are looking for better antiaging solutions that enhance their looks in a natural but subtle way, such as, a gentle brow lift, smoothed out lines or lips that look fuller but feel soft and natural. As we age, collagen and fat disappears, leaving sagging, loose skin which turns to wrinkles. Proteins such as hyaluronic acid (HA) in our skin’s lower layers also diminish as we age, resulting in lost plumpness and youthful tone, which causes small wrinkles to appear. These issues are not only caused by age, but also by sun exposure, genetics, scarring and trauma. Thankfully, injectable fillers are available as a safe, non-invasive option to correct these problems. Fillers restore youthful characteristics, leaving patients looking and feeling young and refreshed.

Dermal fillers are injectable gels used to temporarily reduce fine lines, wrinkles, plump lips, enhance volume, soften facial creases and improve the appearance of scars. The fillers we carry are all FDA approved, providing very safe and effective results. There are several different types of dermal fillers; some are used to correct wrinkles while others are used to restore lost volume. Our injection specialists can choose the best antiaging treatment that is recommended for your unique facial features!

In today’s world, women and men look much younger with advanced cosmetic technologies. In 2002, the FDA approved Botox for its wrinkle reducing properties. Immediately upon approval, Allergan (Botox manufacturer) released Juvederm Fillers. Juvéderm remains one of the most popular cosmetic products in the U.S. It delivers amazing results for tough to treat wrinkles from the nose folds to the stubborn corners of the mouth.

juvederm-ultraplus-xsJuvederm XC Ultra Plus lasts quite a while and absorbs slowly, due to your body’s natural acceptance of the gel. XC Ultra Plus is used on the corners of the mouth and around the nose and lips. Typical treatment commonly lasts 9 months but could be as long as 12 months for non smokers. Juvederm Ultra XC is an injectable gel, 3D hyaluronic acid, with 0.3% lidocaine, a local anesthetic. What is filler injectable?
As we age, our collagen thins and the effects of aging begin to show. Collagen is a natural skin support structure. Fillers replenish the collagen layer making wrinkles and facial lines smooth out. Injectable fillers can be used to add fullness to cheeks and lips.

Am I a good candidate for fillers?
Those who have deepening creases, furrows and lines characteristic of lost volume or aging can benefit the most from fillers. Those who desire bigger cheekbones, lips or a more defined chin can gain benefit from fillers as well, It is also a great option for those hesitant to undergo surgery.

How is this treatment done?
Fillers require a precise procedure that is conducted with extreme care. Our specialist will examine your face to see where to achieve the best results. Depth of scars and area of creases and symmetry are also addressed. The filler is injected directly under the wrinkle line or area that you want elevated. The procedure is performed in office and takes about 25 minutes per area, it requires no downtime and patients may return home after procedure.

Any discomfort during treatment?
No anesthesia is needed prior to injecting. All fillers contain a formulated anesthetic for numbing. Mild discomfort is expected and lasts the duration of the injection. You may be numb for approximately one to two hours after your treatment. For your convenience, we give our patients a cold pack after their procedure to reduce all discomfort and any possible swelling that may occur. But, patients can return to their normal activities immediately following the procedure.

When can I expect results?
Immediately after, the furrow, crease, wrinkle line or scar will be elevated. Often times, the patient will look even better the next day. Many patients are pleasantly surprised at the noticable effects right after their treatment. The results can vary from 6-12 months. The presence of Botox can also enhance duration.

Do I need to follow up with additional treatments?
Yes, for best results, we recommend maintaining your fillers one to three times per year, depending on the area injection.

How much filler will I need?
We will determine your goals and how much filler you will need to achieve those goals during your consultation. You will also be given an estimate on the cost.

What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the body to add volume and hydrate the skin. HA is broken down naturally in 12 days, and is then replaced. However, as we age, replenishment diminishes, leaving skin looking dull, saggy and wrinkled.

How long will my appointment take?
You can expect to visit our office for about 1 hour for filler treatments.
