At Advanced Liposuction Center we find that although many patients desire a firmer, more attractive body, they may not be willing or able to undergo a surgical procedure to advance these goals. For these patients, body wraps may be an ideal option. Body wraps have the following benefits:

  1. Tighten body skin
  2. Promote healthy collagen production for an improved body shape
  3. Exfoliates the skin
  4. Reduces body fat for a slimmer you
  5. Detoxifies your system

This last benefit may not be one you expect, but the detoxifying effects of our Infrared Body Wrap therapy has been shown to help relieve the symptoms of the following conditions:

  • Eczema
  • Arthritis
  • Menstrual pain
  • Soft tissue injury
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Stiffness
  • Neurodermatitis

The Treatment Process

As we age, our fat cells grow larger and extend our skin. Infrared body wraps stimulate these fat cells causing them to release fatty acids. Patients can lose several inches in a single 50-minute setting. The most noticeable effect is that your clothes will begin to feel looser and fit better. Since fat does not weigh as much as muscle, the proof will be more in your appearance and the fit of your clothing than on the numbers on the scale. The treatment is effective and safe for all skin types and colors. There have been no reported negative health effects either short or long term.

Boosting the Results

You can help increase the results of body wraps in several ways. First, be patient and recognize that the effects of body wraps are gradually revealed. We recommend multiple treatments (usually 3 to 6 treatments spaced 3 to 7 days apart) for the best results. In addition, it is suggested that patients avoid toxins such as salt, sugar, carbonated beverages, caffeine and alcohol as much as possible. We also recommend that you maintain a healthy diet and regular exercise regimen to maximize the results of the infrared body wraps.

What information should you have before using a body wrap?

Before you wrap yourself up in one of these body wraps, there are a few things you should be aware of.

You should be aware of any herbal components, exfoliants, or moisturisers the wrap may have in order to determine their safety for you to utilise.
Since many of these wraps need for you or a spa professional to tightly wrap the cloth around your body, the compression may cause you to experience some unfavourable side effects.
Since body wraps work to raise your internal core temperature, the risk of dehydration is also a possibility. Drink a lot of water.
There is no proof that a body wrap will aid in weight loss.

Can body wraps help with skin tightening?

Body wraps are often marketed as treatments that can help with skin tightening, but their effectiveness for this purpose is debated. Some people may experience temporary tightening or firming of the skin due to the compression and hydration effects of the wrap. However, these effects are usually short-lived and not considered a long-term solution for skin tightening. For more lasting results, other treatments such as radiofrequency therapy or laser skin tightening may be more effective. It’s best to consult with a dermatologist or skincare specialist for advice tailored to your specific skin concerns.

Do body wraps help reduce cellulite?

Body wraps are often promoted as treatments that can reduce the appearance of cellulite, but their effectiveness for this purpose is not well-supported by scientific evidence. Cellulite is a complex issue involving the structure of fat cells and connective tissue beneath the skin, and while body wraps may temporarily improve the appearance of the skin due to hydration and compression effects, they are unlikely to provide significant or long-lasting reduction in cellulite. Other treatments such as topical creams, massage, or medical procedures may be more effective for reducing the appearance of cellulite.

How often should someone get a body wrap

The frequency of body wrap treatments can vary depending on individual goals and the specific type of body wrap being used. In general, most spas and salons recommend spacing body wrap treatments at least one week apart to allow the skin to recover and to assess the results of the previous treatment. Some people may choose to have body wraps more frequently, such as once every week or two, for more intensive treatments or to achieve specific goals. It’s important to follow the recommendations of your spa or salon and to listen to your body’s response to determine the best frequency for you.
